600 alloy is Ni-Cr-Fe base solution strengthening alloy, has good resistance to high temperature corrosion and oxidation resistance, excellent hot and cold processing and welding performance. lower than 700it has a satisfactory heat intensity and high plasticity. It can be strengthen through cold work, also can be connected by resistance welding, fusion welding or soldering.

Inconel 600 has the following features: 
1. Has the very good reduction, oxidation resistance, nitride medium corrosion performance.
2. At room temperature and high temperature has good resistance to stress corrosion cracking   performance.
3. Has the very good dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride gas corrosion resistance performance.
4. Below zero, at room temperature and has good mechanical properties at high temperature.
5. Has the very good creep rupture strength, recommended above700 working environment.

The corrosion resistance of Inconel 600:

Inconel 600 process performance and requirements: 
Hot working 
1.The hot working temperature range of1200 ~900 , cooling water quenching or air cooling rapidly. 
2.Get the best corrosion resistance and optimum crystal structure, must carry on the heat treatment after hot working. 
3.The material can be directly sent to have heating furnace. 
Cold working 
1. The cold material should be annealed or solid solution heat treatment state, the work hardening rate of alloy 600 austenitic stainless steel with close, so you can choose a similar processing equipment. 
2. In the process of cold processing capacity should be intermediate annealing. 
3. When the cold was more than 5%, the workpiece solid solution treatment is needed. 
4. In order to reduce the wear and tear of material, mould should choose alloy tool steel, hard alloy, or cast steel.

 

Inconel 600 welding process 
Alloy welding performance is good, the available arc welding, argon arc welding, resistance welding and brazing of various methods, such as connection, large or complex welding structure should be 1 h at870 annealing after welding, to eliminate the welding stress.

 

Inconel 600 parts heat treatment process 
Parts of heat treatment process shall be carried out according to the relevant material standard heat treatment system.Parts of sheet and strip annealing treatment should be performed in a protective atmosphere. 

 

Application areas for Inconel 600 are: 
1.The erosion of the thermowell atmosphere;
2.The production of vinyl chloride monomer: corrosion resistance to chlorine, hydrogen chloride, oxidation and carbonization;
3.The uranium oxide into six fluoride: hydrogen corrosion resistance;
4.The production and use of caustic alkali metal field, especially the use of sulfide environment;
5.Legal titanium dioxide with chlorine gas;
6.The organic or inorganic chloride and fluoride production: corrosion resistance to chlorine and fluorine;
7.A nuclear reactor;
8.Retort and parts in heat treatment furnace, especially in the carbide and nitride atmosphere;
9.Petrochemical industry in the production of the catalytic regenerator is recommended to use in the application of above700 alloy 600 to obtain a longer service life.
